method 1: using cotton thread or paper

the simplest approach — wrap fine cotton thread or a paper strip around your finger once, mark the starting and ending points, measure the length (mm), and cross-reference with a ring size chart.

if you have a ring that fits comfortably, measure its inner diameter (mm) with a ruler or caliper, then cross-reference with a ring size chart.

ring sizing gauges are available in three forms: printed paper, plastic rings, or metal rings. metal rings offer the greatest accuracy; paper versions are the most economical.
